Born into a dairy farming family, Mark Crakanthorp’s expertise in pasture agronomy and animal husbandry is invaluable in assisting those who are new to farming and require expert advice. Mark has had considerable first hand experience working on commercial animal and horticultural farms. He has tertiary qualifications in agricultural economics and post graduate qualifications in rural science.
As a trained agronomist, he is licensed to test and evaluate soil samples.
For several years, Mark provided agronomic sales advice in the diverse agricultural hubs of the Hunter Valley, NSW as well as his native NSW south coast. His customers included dairy farmers as well as an ever increasing number of hobby farmers.
Mark still insists that he is a farm boy at heart, learning on the job, despite his formal qualifications and his working in the big smoke. His easygoing, approachable nature is typical of Australian country folk and as SOTA’s Manager for NSW, Mark is highly regarded for his down to earth advice on farm machinery and farm practices.
